Sourced from the pristine Lost Draw Vineyard located in Brownfield, Texas. This 75 acre vineyard was planted in 2016 and is comprised of 6 core varietals, of which Malbec is one. The 2019 Malbec produced in collaboration with Tony Offill of William Chris Vineyards initially has a reductive nature, taking on a much more rustic character that pulses with dried herbs, coffee grounds, purple flower and a copper/sanguine character. With plenty of aeration the rusticity becomes tamed allowing earthy-fruit character to show through of  raspberry, dried cherries and gummy-strawberries. On the palate the wine brings out more savory flavors of pomegranate, kalamata olive and hibiscus. The wine is dry and medium bodied with medium-plus acidity; and with a lighter structure overall, this wine possess noticeable but balanced energy and tannin that would make it a solid candidate for wine that would be served chilled. The overall delicate personality of the wine makes it approachable.
